I just went to the Norfolk zoo and honestly, it makes me happy but mad at the same time. I’m so thrilled I get to see animals that aren’t originally from this country and it’s breathtaking. The elephants were beyond beautiful, the giraffe had so much character, and the kangaroos totally stood and posed for the camera.
But it makes me so mad because here they are for our entertainment in habitats not suitable for them. Mama giraffe is separated from her babies because their in their glass exhibits for little children to look at. The elephants can’t even be together because they’re fucking locked inside a cage as big as they are. Like, as hypocritical as I may sound right now, but what the fuck.
I”m sorry for all this animal rights things, but I really have a passion for animals. I’m seriously like a little kid when I see one. I jump up and down and I squeal and I have a huge smile on my face. But those animals can’t roam free. They’re fed by humans, which naturally shouldn’t be that way, and they have a routine. Wild animals shouldn’t have that honestly. Obviously, they should be able to wake up, walk around, find food, play some, and then sleep. These animals wake up in their cages, dens, whatever, and they stand outside for people to look at. Some animals have fun with it and pose, while some animals just mope around hoping for some kind of savior.
I think if I could live one full day without consequences, I would rescue zoo animals, as well as kill a few people.
